Finding the Apple Pie
We are situated in the charming village of Ambleside, at the head of Lake Winderemere, in the heart of the Lake District.
Take junction 36 off the M6 and enjoy the drive north through the Lake District, along the shores of Lake Windermere with the spectacular Langdale Pikes in the distance. Alternatively use junction 40 and the drive south takes you along the shores of Thirlmere and over Dunmail Raise (A591) or take the A592 and see Ullswater and then brave the infamous ‘Struggle’ on Kirkstone Pass. Parking
Parking on site is on a first come – first served basis but there are two public car parks just two minutes walk away. SLDC Rydal Road car park is now £1 from 6pm -8am and the other University of Cumbria car park (also on Rydal Rd) is free for the same period. Alternatively you could pull in, unload your bags and ask us for a disk and a map for free overnight parking in Millans Park from 6pm to 10am.
